We provide daily activities for our residents both in-room and outside of the room. We have a certified Activities Director on staff who oversees the activities program. We have visiting ministers, singers, children and various other volunteers who come to the facility to conduct activities. We also have outings outside the facility for our residents as are allowable based on health conditions. We have many events, which are announced in our quarterly newsletter. We have a carnival in October of each year, and also visit the Alabama State Fair. We hold our annual beauty pageant each May, during National Nursing Home Week. We have many fishing trips during the summer months of May through October. We take a bus trip to Calloway Gardens to see the Christmas lights each December. We occasionally visit the Montgomery Zoo or take Blue Bell ice cream trips to Sylacauga. On a weekly basis, some of the residents like to go out to eat at one of the local restaurants, and some residents enjoy a van ride out into the city and countryside on Fridays.
